Astrological Body Types :: MARS::

Mars, known as Ares to the Greeks, was the god of war and perhaps the most unpopular of all the Olympian gods because of his quick temper, aggressiveness, and unquenchable thirst for conflict. He famously seduced Aphrodite, unsuccessfully fought with Hercules, and enraged Poseidon by killing his son Halirrhothios.

The Martian type is very alert and misses nothing. Their manner is always intense and active. Their gestures are angular and their mannerisms of the masculine variety.
They are completely capable of socially unacceptable behavior such as putting their shoes on your table, or spitting on the sidewalk.

Mars is associated with the head, eyes, and hair. Martians are usually of medium height with short, muscular legs, broad chests. The body is muscular and lean. They tend to walk proudly with their shoulders erect. The type is youthful and graceful in every way. Strong and proud are features associates with Mars.

The Martian head type is square and angular, with a well accented jaw line and cheekbones. The eyes are medium to large. The gaze is extremely penetrating and many times I have accurately guessed a person was Aries based on this feature alone. Martian eyes will be noticed, especially if backed by the intensity of a fire sign (Aries).

Martians have strong jaws and strong necks, as this is the Warrior archetype. A pointed, widow’s peak hairline is a classic mark of Mars. Martians are also acne prone and have a loud, harsh voice. Red hair is a giveaway that the subject is Martian. Additionally, Martians love the color red.

Martians may engage in unsociable behavior and use their brute strength in times a delicate application would yield better results, but, as all archetypes, Mars characteristics balance the other six to create a harmonious blend of personalities here on Earth.

Mars is intense. Their bad-side is BAD, and their good-side is TERRIFIC. I sometimes liken Mars to The Beast in the children’s classic Beauty and The Beast. Remember how protective he was about his red rose in the glass case? The good-type of Mars protects what is beautiful and serene in our world. Mars defends the defenseless. Mars is represented in the loyal, tried-and-true friend of yours. Mars is seen lending a hand without judgement or debt to be repaid. Mars likes to help the underdog.
